I’m knee-deep in wedding prep mode. Everything's going relatively smooth and on track for late June.

Over in beautiful Italy, no less. I sent out the RSVPs months ago and began the countdown. All's well, right?

Wrong.

My cousin decides to throw a curveball into my meticulously orchestrated timeline.

Surprise, surprise!

Out of nowhere, she announces her wedding. And where?

Back in California just three days before mine.

Just. Perfect.

Suddenly, my family is being pulled in two directions. California or Italy—pick a wedding, folks!

And surprise, most are choosing her. Frustrating right?

This lovely cousin of mine, who knew my date all along, didn’t even have her own figured out until she could throw a wrench into my Italian plans.

It doesn’t feel like bad timing it feels deliberate. Like she needed to shake things up, and my wedding was the target.

Now I’m down almost 25 people.

Like, what do I even do?

Sit back and fume?

Call guests to make sure they’re still planning on coming?

To make matters worse, my family whose originally from Italy is now debating where their loyalty lies.

It’s a tug-of-war.

Now I’m balancing hurt with logistics. This dream wedding is turning into a harsh reality. Like, is there any way to fix this??

Ugh, it’s all too much. Is a family feud really worth it over a wedding date fiasco?

I’m left with just one choice: Vent.

I have to tell someone, anyone who will listen. What would you do in this situation?

Girl, no. Absolutely not. She knew your date. She had months to plan literally any other time and she chose 5 days before yours?? That’s not a coincidence—that’s a calculated move. Like, who books a wedding that close to a family member’s destination wedding without expecting fallout?
