My fiancé’s ruining our wedding.

Need to vent. I'm so annoyed.

Our wedding is in two months. I’ve spent over a year planning every single detail. Everything is neutral. Ivory, champagne, soft florals, nothing bright or flashy. It’s supposed to look elevated and timeless.

So my fiancé goes out and buys a maroon suit. Doesn’t ask. Doesn’t run it by me. Just comes home and says “Look what I got for the wedding” like it’s something to be proud of.

I forbid it. That color doesn’t match anything we’ve planned. It’s going to throw off the entire aesthetic. I already told him months ago I didn’t want him wearing anything in that shade. He knew. He bought it anyway.

I’ve told my bridesmaids, some friends, even his sister. Everyone keeps brushing it off. Saying it’s not a big deal, that I should let him wear what he wants. No one’s taking it seriously.

I just don’t get how I put all this effort into making everything look perfect and he can’t even figure out how to dress like someone who deserves to marry me.

Like our entire wedding party is one cohesive palette and then there’s him, standing out in a deep red suit like a sore thumb.

I’ve honestly thought about changing the entire color scheme just to make it work. Or telling the photographer to mute the red when editing the pictures. I’m not joking. It actually bothers me that much.

Is it really that crazy to expect the groom to coordinate with the wedding? Is it that unreasonable?

Because maybe if he cared half as much about looking good next to me as I do about this entire day, we wouldn’t even be having this conversation.

If you think color coordination is more important than your partner’s comfort, maybe you’re not ready for marriage.
